Electrically Conductive Adhesives

Electrically Conductive Adhesives

Electrically conductive adhesives do exactly that!
They conduct electricity.

The Elecolit range of adhesives are widely used as a replacement for soldering in electronics, PCB's, wiring looms and systems, electrical white goods, automotive and aerospace applications or any application that needs two substrates bonded to produce a conductive joint.

Depending on cost and resistance factors Elecolit products are usually filled with Silver, Nickel or Copper. Elecolit is available in one or two component grades.

Click to download PDF DatasheetElecolit 325 is a two component pure silver filled epoxy adhesive. It is easy to use because equal amounts of Part A and B (resin and hardener) are mixed together and it has a 1 to 2 hour pot life. Elecolit 325 may be processed with dispensers, stamps or through screen printing.
Curing occurs at room temperature. Increased heat yields very short curing times.
Elecolit 325 provides optimum solutions for cold curing applications thanks to excellent conductivity and gap filling attributes.
Typical applications include:
      1. Connecting heat sensitive components to printed circuit boards.
      2. Bonding wave guide plumbing, hybrid circuit assembly.
      3. Connecting ground wires to components and making conductive lines.
      4. Replace metal solder where temperature or convenience in the application is required.
      5. Plating base.
      6. Chip bonding for discrete devices and hybrid circuits.

Click to download PDF DatasheetElecolit 3024Is an electrically conductive 2-part epoxy resin adhesive with a long processing time. The mixing ratio is 1:1 by weight. The adhesive may be used with a dispenser, screen-printing or stamp printing. Elecolit 3024 was specifically developed for bonding heat sensitive components. Curing is possible at just 80°C. At higher temperatures, the product cures even quicker ie 'snap cures'. Elecolit 3024 has a shelf life of 6 months when stored at 5°C or 12 months at -40°C.

Click to download PDF DatasheetElecolit 3042 - Is an electrically conductive acrylic paint containing silver, exhibiting excellent conductivity due to the high silver content and outstanding environmental protection because of the acrylic base. Elecolit 3042 sets by solvent evaporation similar to most good lacquers. It forms a tough mar-resistant flexible film with very good adhesion to ceramics, glass, rubber, plastics and plastic films. Applications include RF shielding, printed circuit repair, conductive ink, component lead terminations and prototype circuit manufacture.

The flexibility of the cured adhesive makes it ideally suited for applications which involve vibration or thermal shock. The product can be dispensed or processed with stamp, print or silk -screen print. Elecolit 3653 is a one component product, thermally curable in short time frames. Stored under cool conditions of about 5ºC the product has a stability of ca. 6 months.

It is formulated to provide exceptional conductivity when cured at low temperatures. Unlike conventional conductive materials, this product is very resistant to flexing and creasing. Applications for Elecolit 414 include, but are not limited to, EMI/RFI shielding of polyimide flexible circuits, polymer thick film circuitry, membrane switches, electrical attachments for surface mounted devices and anode coatings for tantalum capacitors.
