If you run a meter / mix dispensing machine for applying 2 part silicones or polyurethane materials, the chances are that you have to purge your machine every time you near the end of the potlife. For example, you would purge the mixer block on 'start up' you would purge again as you stop for lunch and again at the end of the shift. You may even purge a few more times a day when producing short production runs. On average you will purge 2 kilos each time. That's alot of waste adhesive. On a single shift, purging four times a day could cost you approx £64 per day in waste material. Over a period of one year that could be as much as £19,200 of waste material thrown away per machine.
